SAT Prep
The SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized test for US college admissions
(SAT was originally an abbreviation for Scholastic Aptitude Test, but is
now officially the SAT reasoning test). The SAT is administered by the
College Board and is developed, published and scored by the Educational
Testing Service (ETS).
The SAT tests three skill areas: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and
Writing. Each section receives a score on the scale of 200–800 in
multiples of 10. Total scores are calculated by adding up scores of the
three sections. Each major section is divided into three parts. There
are ten sub-sections, including an experimental section that may be in
any of the three major sections. The experimental section is used to
normalize questions for future administrations of the SAT and does not
count toward the final score. The test contains 3 hours and 45 minutes
of actual timed sections, although some administrations, including
orientation, distribution of materials, and completion of the
biographical sections, can run as long as 5 hours.
Our full SAT Preparation course is a comprehensive program that has been
developed here at Creative Dimensions over the course of the last
twenty-six years. It consists of fifteen one-hour private sessions. We
do offer different ways of customizing your preparation. We HIGHLY
recommend the full preparation in order to assure maximum results, and
the highest possible composite score. However, in some situations, a
review of only one or two subject areas is ideal for the student. These
sessions are broken down by skill area in the following manner:
5 sessions focused on Critical Reading
5 sessions focused on Mathematics
5 sessions focused on Writing (both essay and grammar)
